DAVAO BUY-BUST YIELDS P90,000 SHABU
Two big packs containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, worth P900,000, were seized from two male pushers by combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine Air Force (PAF) during a buy-bust operation in Davao City. PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac Jr. said that the illegal drug, weighing more or less 100 grams, was confiscated from suspects Yasser Nandang, 61, of Barangay Tukanas, Cotabato City; and Krap Buisan, alias Raffy, 20, of Barangay Malagapas, Cotabato City on May 22, 2013. At around 12:30 pm, a poseur-buyer was able to hatch a transaction with Nandang and Buisan. They agreed to meet along Tulip Drive, in front of a restaurant in Barangay 76-A, Davao City. Upon the pre-arranged signal, elements of PDEA Regional Office 11 (PDEA RO11) Special Enforcement Group under Director Emerson Rosales, together with a team from the 305th Air Intelligence and Security Squadron (AISS) and the 300th Air Intelligence and Security Group (AISG), PAF, swooped down on the suspects after they received the marked money in exchange for the illegal drug. Reports revealed that Nandang is considered to be a high-value target, being a notorious member of the Afdal-Nandang Drug Group operating in Davao.
