DINAGYANG INVADES US CITIES ANEW

ILOILO CITY: Dinagyang, the Philippines’ best tourism event invades two big cities in the United States—New York City and in Los Angeles, California. The Department of Tourism Promotions Board will shoulder the travel expenses from Iloilo City on May 31 of 23 dancers and drummers to perform at the Madison Avenue in Manhattan New York on June 2 and in Los Angeles on June 8 to usher in the 115th anniversary of Philippine Independence Day celebration in the US. The Philippine Embassy, Philippine Independence Day Council and the Filipino community in both cities will also host the world-famous drumbeats and dancing Iloilo Dinagyang delegation. Tribu Panayanon of the Iloilo City High School won the 2013 Ati-Atihan tribe competition and will represent the city in the Philippine Independence Day celebration in New York and Los Angeles.
